Rosa Castillo

Rosa Castillo is currently a Program Officer with First 5 LA, a public entity funded by California’s tobacco tax. Rosa manages grant initiatives to agencies serving children 0-5 years in the area of Family Literacy, Community Development, and soon in healthcare for children pre-natal to age three. Rosa entered the field of philanthropy at the California Community Foundation as a Program Officer. She continued her career at the Weingart Foundation as a grantmaker and led initiatives in foster care; early childhood education; and in healthcare for the homeless. She has also been a consultant to several local Regional Centers serving disabled children. Rosa is a member of Southern California Grantmakers and was the founding chair of the local chapter of Hispanics in Philanthropy. Rosa received both her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Social Welfare with a specialization in Child & Family Studies from UCLA. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Born in Bellflower, Rosa resides in West Los Angeles. |
