Fast Pitch Winners Announced!

Event Draws Hundreds of Attendees

Los Angeles, CA

Last night Los Angeles Social Venture Partners (LASVP, the Social Enterprise Institute (SEI) and USC Stevens Institute for Innovation hosted the inaugural Social Innovation Fast Pitch and Showcase. The goal of the event was to identify, reward, and celebrate innovative nonprofits in the Greater Los Angeles area that demonstrate significant potential for impact and social problem-solving.

10 nonprofits made 3-minute pitches to a standing-room only audience of approximately 250, and to a panel of judges.  Presenters were evaluated on two criteria: 1) the social impact and innovative approach of their model, and 2) their "pitch", i.e., their delivery as a presenter, abillity to engage the audience, and the clarity of their message about how people could help them.

The host organizations wish to congratulate the award winners:

Best Overall Presentation ($10,000):  Everyone Deserves a Roof

Award for Impact & Innovation ($5,000): St. Barnabus Senior Services

Award for Pitch ($5,000): Environmental Charter High School

LASVP, SEI and USC also congratulate all the presenters on the outstanding job they did in preparing their pitches for the event and presenting last night! For a full list of presenters, see the events page on this website.
